New Server
If you browse the site frequently you may have noticed that its a whole lot faster now. This is thanks to my new co-located server. The new server has been running perfectly and as of now its been running almost 9 days.
I am currently working on my business website. I am going to be offering web hosting and data hosting services. I am hoping to have the site fully ready to launch by the 1st of March. If you know anyone who is thinking of getting a website pass on my contact information. Click here for my email address
I am currently preparing another server so that I have a completely geographically redundant system to ensure the industry standard 99% uptime.
Moving Drupal from the virtual server it was previously on to this new server was surprisingly easy. Prior to moving the site I set all the performance options back to their defaults, turned off clean URLs, and cleared the cache. Once that was done I copied the database to the new server, copied over the site files, then touched up the configuration to match the new machine. Once this was done I was able to access my site. I configured the new server for clean URLs and re-enabled all the performance features. That is all there was to it. It is also fairly well documented online that is why I'm not going into much detail here.
My next blog story is going to be about the Ubiquiti Nanostation2. Check in for this review as this is a revolutionary product.
